Delivery

• Gift orders received by 1pm are sent out using a special next day delivery service through UK Mail. They will be delivered the next day between 9.00am and 5.00pm. Orders placed after 1pm will be delivered the day after this, but please call us if you need it sooner and we will do our best to help. Please note that gifts to be delivered by this service on a Monday must be ordered by 1pm on the Friday before. UK Mail do not attempt to deliver on a Saturday.
  All orders placed over the weekend will be processed on Monday for next day delivery on Tuesday.
• If you are only sending one box, and do not require delivery quickly or on a specific date, we recommend using our Royal Mail saver second class delivery service at a flat cost of £2.99. If you select this option, your order will be sent out on the date of despatch that you have requested by Royal Mail but please note that this service is not time specific. There is no guarantee that your order will be delivered on or in time for a specific date.
• It is the customers' responsibility to ensure that you have given us the correct delivery information, and that someone is available to receive your gift, or that you have advised us where to leave the gift if the recipient is not at the delivery address when we arrive.
• If the recipient is not in, we will attempt to leave the order in a safe place unless otherwise advised. Please note that orders being sent to business addresses, hospitals or hotels will be left at reception if we cannot locate the recipient on arrival.
• Gifts ordered will only be dispatched once full payment has been received.
• All products are subject to availability. When an item is out of stock, we will endeavour to contact you and offer an alternative.
• If you require any further information regarding our delivery services please do not hesitate to call and ask us.

"We will always endeavour to send your sweet gift out in the colour of box specified in the relevant images on the website. On the odd occasion that this is not possible, we will use a different colour box of the same fabulous quality."

Delivery process

• In the unlikely event that your sweets are lost during transit, you must notify us within 48 hours of expected delivery. Compensation may be available, up to a maximum of the price paid by the customer, if the sweets cannot be traced and are confirmed as lost by the carriers.
• Your sweets will be very carefully packaged so that they arrive in perfect condition. In the unlikely event that the gift appears to have been damaged during transit, you must notify us within 24 hours of receipt. Any replacement products, refunds or compensation will be considered, and may be granted at our discretion and only in the event that the product is damaged beyond reasonable use. We will require evidence of any damage, which must be received by us within 7 days of the original delivery. This evidence may be in the form of photographs, or by returning the goods to us and must include the original packaging.

Cancelling an order

• Our gifts are hand packed to order and personalised to your specifications. Orders cannot be cancelled once gifts have been made. However, should you wish to change or cancel your order at any time please contact us immediately and we will do our best to meet your needs.

General

• By placing an order with Sweets in the City, either through our website, over the telephone, or by any other medium you are agreeing to these terms.
• Images on the website are for illustrative purposes only.
• All sweets remain the property of Sweets in the City until paid for in full.
• Payment is by cheque, debit or credit card.
• Refunds will be offered at the discretion of management.

Sweets in the City is committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with The Data Protection Act 1998).

We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly to process your order and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service.

The type of information we will collect about you will include the name and addresses of yourself and/or the recipient if it is not yourself, telephone number, e-mail address, and special requirements such as dietary needs which may affect your chosen product.

We may need to pass on your personal details to the companies and organisations who need to know them to fulfil your order (for example a delivery service).

We would also like to store and use your personal details for future marketing purposes by ourselves. If you do not want us to do this please let us know by e-mail.

We will never collect sensitive information without your explicit consent.

The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by e-mailing us. If you find any inaccuracies, we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law.
